SMG Event Staff Supervisor in Corpus Christi, Texas

POSITION: Event Supervisor REPORTS TO: Event Services Manager FLSA STATUS: Hourly -- Part Time

SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Part-time Event Supervisor at the American Bank Center. The Event Supervisor is responsible to assist Event Management with patron concerns and employee relations.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinates, directs and participates in the following: * Function as facility representative at all entrances and general areas of the facilities. * Once the event begins, roam the facilities to observe employee & crowd behavior. * Receives calls from event day facility management staff (including Command Post) and provide clear, concise and timely communication information to the appropriate personnel. * Maintain an event day log of all incidents, accidents and event related occurrences at the facility before, during and after the event. * Communicates with Facility Management staff regarding employee related concerns/problems. * Have a full working understanding of all event staff (i.e. ticket takers, ushers, concierges, security, crowd control, door screeners and guest relations) and possess the ability to communicate to staff when corrective action regarding appearance and communication with the public as needed. Anticipate problems and appropriate solutions. * Handles duties and problems associated with employee relations in coordination with manager. * At the conclusion of each event, communicate with Guest Services Manager issues of concern noted on event day log and recommendations to improve. * Will be required to have involvement during training exercises, supervisory meetings, and be available to work events on an on-going basis. * Enforce facility rules, regulation of policies and procedures. * Other duties as assigned by Guest Services Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS: Exceptional Customer Service, communication, problem solving and organizational skills Ability to effectively supervise staff Knowledge of supervisory principals and practices Ability to maintain effective working relationships Ability to communicate with, and take direction from immediate supervisor and Facility Management Ability to work with minimal supervision and as a team player with enthusiasm and motivation Must posses a professional image and work ethic Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time Must have experience in making independent decisions High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 1-2 years of related experience in similar venue or equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisory experience required.
